A good rule of thumb: every 1–2 weeks during the growing season.
But the real answer depends on how quickly your grass is growing. Try not to cut more than one-third of the grass height at a time, especially during hot Michigan summers.
WATCH THE GRASS, NOT THE CALENDAR
Growing quickly? Mow more often.
Growing slowly due to heat or dry conditions? You may be able to mow less.
As fall approaches, keep mowing until your grass stops growing for the season.
